The Folkcommunication Theory
2025
This book consists of the translation of 15 texts that seek to provide an overview of the development of Folkcommunication theory. The material was selected according to three categories: Founding Fathers, Dialogues, and Interfaces.
The first category, together with the work of Luiz Beltrão, includes texts by Roberto Benjamin, Joseph Luyten, and Osvaldo Trigueiro, who made important conceptual contributions. In the second, Antônio Hohlfeldt, Iury Aragão, Flávio Santana, Guilherme Fernandes, and Cristina Schimidt outline the theoretical foundations that shaped the theory.
Finally, we find interdisciplinary intersections of Folkcommunication in works by Betania Maciel, Marcelo Sabbatini, Marcelo Pires, Beatriz Dornelles, Cristian Yanez, Maria Érica Oliveira, Cássio Bêribá, José Cláudio Oliveira, Eliane Mergulhão, and Sônia Jaconi.
