Metamorphosis in Folkcommunication

2013

Brazilian Anthology

The purpose of this anthology is to offer support so that new spaces may be organized and new groups may energize research, always remaining faithful to the spirit of openness required to include new phenomena in their studies, while also not losing sight of the reality in which we live — or survive.

Conceived as an illustrative overview of Folkcommunication, within the context of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of communication sciences in Brazil, the present work is divided into two parts. The first is diachronic in character, inventorying a kind of prehistory of the field, while the second has a synchronic orientation, focusing on the development of studies inspired by Beltrão’s thought and by emerging — that is, post-Beltrão — ideas.

The set of essays gathered here allows for an integration between two periods and two worlds, based on the objects examined and their respective cognitive methodologies.
