It is a collectively produced book with restricted circulation, as it is part of the series *Comunicações*, vol. 14, with 141 pages and a small print run. It includes contributions by 11 authors: José Marques de Melo, Luiz Beltrão, Luis da Câmara Cascudo, Ariano Suassuna, Clarival Prado Valadares, Roberto Pontual, José Maria Tavares de Andrade, Mauro Mota, Mauro de Almeida, Hernani Donato, and Claude Lévi-Strauss.

Each author, from their respective field of training and academic work, contributes to defining the scope and guidelines of Folkcommunication by analyzing the relationship between communication and folklore, art, literature, anthropology, and sociology.
