With an accessible style and several concepts related to culture, the work investigates the roots of North American musicality and its connection with hip-hop, recounting the battles fought, especially by Afro-descendant populations, to make visible the forms of segregation to which entire generations were subjected.

Through their rhythms, they recorded a musicality resulting from a long history of struggle for survival in territories that were often inhospitable, finding singular forms of preserving values, religiosity, freedom, identity, and customs.
