Luiz Beltrão and the theory of folk journalism used in the blog "Os Hermanos"

The challenge of studying and understanding the theory of Folkcommunication, proposed by Luiz Beltrão, brings with it the possibility of apprehending new perspectives on journalistic practice. Thus, this work is the result of research carried out on the blog Os Hermanos, run by Ariel Palacios, correspondent for O Estado de S. Paulo in Argentina and hosted on the newspaper’s website, in order to observe whether its posts may indicate tendencies in the use of Folkcommunication concepts.

Using bibliographical and documentary research, as well as analysis of the blog posts, the study sought to identify which theoretical frameworks could be associated with this theory, describing such evidence and contributing to the possibility of connecting theoretical concepts to a practical example. In doing so, it advances knowledge and interpretation of the phenomena of popular culture, whether determined by media flows or mediated by them, especially those present in digital media and used under the sign of journalism.
